CRAFT WORK was founded in 1995; since then we have been steadily growing our business by developing embedded systems for medical equipments, as well as web systems.
Our CEO and one of our directors were colleagues at another software development company, before creating Craft Work together. Their goal when establishing the company was to live as programmers with a passion for creation, seeing engineering as “craftsmanship”.
Our main strength is our primary contractor position; whether it is for major manufacturer, system integrators or other companies, we work under direct contract with our clients, meaning we have a full understanding of the clients’ requests.
The problem of our industry is the lack of skilled engineers for system back-end development, as well as managers. That is why we are looking for talented young engineers!

Our mission is to create a better society, by making good use of the software development technology we have been developing for years. Working as a prime contractor for our clients is a priority for us, as we want to undertake the creative process with them.
We want our employees to become respectable and brilliant individuals; for that we adapt management to one’s personality, and do not hesitate to be strict when necessary, to help our members grow.
Our services/products
We have 3 main businesses:
- embedded systems development for medical devices
- large-scale web systems development for various purposes, such as infrastructure system for telecommunication carriers or EC web systems.
- AI development
We have started AI technology development three years ago and are training AI engineers, to be more useful to society. AI is the area in which we are focusing on for the future, as cutting-edge AI is expected to lead to dramatic advances in the medical field, for exemple through pathological diagnosis based on image analysis.
We are doing research together with a university lab, and acquiring technologies that can incorporate AI into edge GPUs, general MPUs, and FPGAs.
Our customers’ trust is based on ISO certifications we have aquired over the years such as: ISMS, QMS, Medical Device Manufacturing Certification, IEC62304, AI technology (data set weighting (parameter) methods and learning efficiency).

We have been working on upstream works, such as development requirements, down to functional testings for the development of control systems for medical devices and web systems (back-end).

We hold individual meetings twice a year, to check on every employee’s skill development and to set their new goals. We acknowledge members who have improved their skills by giving them a higher rank.
Allowances
Senior engineer: 30,000 to 90,000 JPY
Project leader: 60,000 to 100,000 JPY
Manager: 100,000 to 150,000 JPY
